Hauptmann: the leader of the Army.

The Captains' retinue is afforded the privilege of carrying the Imperial Banner!

Jancemeijer von Magnus

portrays a Fahrender Ritter of Landgraf William der Älter and Freiherr of the village of Rothafen, near the city of Kassel, in the province of Hessen.  He is the  Komapnie Hauptmann

My Grandfather was a Teutonic Knight, being defeated at Tannenberg and bankrupted.  So where I should be rather well off, I am lacking of funds.  I get most of my supplies from armourers contracted by the City.  Due to my very small grant of land, I have to go through grants by the Fugger and Medici bankers to pay for most of my supplies.  I am in debt.

  • c.1459 Jakob Fugger II, German banker. He minted his own money and maintained banks in every European capital. He held a contract for managing the Pope's money and collected cash for the remission of sins. He bankrolled the election of Charles V (grandson of Maximilian I, and great-grandson of Emperor Frederick III).

Traveling can be a very dangerous thing, especially since plague ravages the land roughly every decade.  So I am glad to have these friends with me.....

Rana

portrays my lady, der Freifrau Rana von Magnus.

A wealthy wool merchant with ties to Flanders, the Hanse and trade across the Baltic. With a sufficient dowry, her family married her into the lower nobility. Raising the family in status and making her well off. Or so they thought.

and

Rü (short for Rüdolph)

is my son.  He portrays a child. Easy-enough job.

Rüdolph is the heir to the von Magnus legacy. He spends his days playing at being a knight until he turns severn years old, at which he begins to squire and begins the road to that destiny.

(Awaiting Portrayal Name) Jesse

portrays a Paige, Hauptmanns Junge under the Lordship of Freiherr Jancemeijer von Magnus. He is the brother of the Frau Rana.

This younger brother was part of the Dowry, serving the von Magnus estate as a "go do this, go do that" servant. Should the lord von Magnus find favor for the young man, he may take him in as a squire.
